Veronica Malone was elected in 2016 to serve on the Avondale City Council in the capacity of Council Member. She has been serving the Avondale community since January of 2017. Council Member Malone is a proud graduate of the Avondale Citizens Leadership Academy, the Avondale Citizens Police Academy, the West Hispanic Leadership Institute and Leadership West Class XXVI. She believes these learning opportunities have afforded her a better understanding of city government and her leadership role as an Avondale Council Member.
Councilwoman Veronica Malone has a long history of community involvement and service. Her journey began in her local community.
Councilwoman Veronica Malone's advocacy for a neighborhood park was driven by her personal experience as a mother and her deep understanding of her community's needs.
Veronica has worked in education for the past 20 years and is Scrum Master certified; this allows her to serve as the facilitator for agile development teams. She is currently employed as a Special Project Technician with the Littleton Elementary School District

Currently, Council Member Malone serves on the Avondale Contributions Assistance Review Committee, The Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Women Fulfilling Purpose, Women in Municipal Government and is a member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.
